Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is all about creating and improving the environment in which we live. As a civil engineer, you will be responsible for virtually all the great structures around us including the planning, design, construction and operation of facilities, from roads and airports, to access to clean water and electricity.
This program will equip you with the mathematical, engineering, and scientific knowledge, as well as the problem-solving and analysis abilities needed to meet the challenges of community planning, water supply, structures, traffic congestion, energy needs, pollution and infrastructure improvements. You will be uniquely qualified to design and test wide-ranging solutions using advanced tools and technologies including computer aided design (CAD), geographical information systems (GIS) and 3-D computer modelling.
You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories including the Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering laboratory, and Construction Materials and Structures laboratory. You will acquire the ability to find practical solutions to real life civil engineering problems whilst taking into account the relevant social, economic and environmental requirements.
