Georgetown English Language Center

640 Massachusetts Ave NW
Washington, WA 20001
United States

Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., the English Language Center at Georgetown University is nearly 60 years old with a rich history and tradition of English language and teacher training. Our dedicated faculty and staff engage with a wide range of language backgrounds and learning styles through dynamic and innovative courses designed to meet the needs of today’s diverse student population. Today, in our English language and teacher training programs, there are over 20 countries represented with students from every corner of the world.

Georgetown is one of the world’s leading academic and research institutions, offering a unique educational experience that prepares the next generation of global citizens to lead and make a difference in the world. Established in 1789, Georgetown is the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university. We provide students with a world-class learning experience focused on educating the whole person through exposure to different faiths, cultures, and beliefs. English Language Center students are encouraged to participate in the communities and neighborhoods around the D.C. area. Our unique location in the nation’s capital provides the ideal backdrop for immersive language training as well as personal and cultural development.

Students and partners year after year choose the English Language Center at Georgetown for its academic excellence, notable faculty, and supportive and caring staff. Participants in our diverse programs receive personalized feedback from the faculty while our highly trained staff support students in their transition to American life and culture. Our faculty and staff are committed to getting to know you individually and to help you pursue your own individual goals. Classrooms are a safe space for all students to learn and share their own culture, and even to make mistakes. Respect and care for each individual is part of the unique Jesuit tradition that is Georgetown University.

I invite you to join the English Language Center family this coming year and to contribute to the spirit of Georgetown.

Very Sincerely,

Marcel J. Bolintiam
Director, English Language Cente
